Deliver Us From Evil

The sin I believe our society needs to rid themselves of is being judgmental.  Walking through the hallways- I hear it all the time, "Her hair looks weird today," or, "the way she walks is so annoying," People don't realize that those little comments can ruin someones day.  I not saying do not judge a book by its cover, but I can't believe what I hear all around me wherever I go.  The sinister world of hatred and violence is not God's plan for us.  Living on this earth is a privilege to us and people take it for granted.  Although many natural disasters and war destroy our world physically, emotional we are tearing it apart.  The earth could be a little bit better all around if unnecessary negative energy would just go away.

A Friend's Saint

I really enjoyed learning about Alex's saint, Padre Pio.  His ministry and works are amazing.  I am fascinated by the stigmata endured.  It is truly incredible how closely linked Jesus shone through him.  His hands and feet bled just like Jesus' did while dying on the cross.   This really shows how dedicated he was to Jesus.  I read an article once on how he appeared in a dream, for someone who was praying for a miracle to happen.  The next day when the woman awoke, her paralyzed son was able to walk.  I honestly believe that through the work of Jesus Christ and the ministry of Padre Pio that this boy was cured.  I know it's a lot to ask for, but I pray to Padre Pio more often so maybe one of my prayers will become a reality.

Temptation

I admire Jesus so much, as I do every day, for his ability to fight temptation.  He had face to face encounters with Satan and, as a human being, fought every temptation he faced.  As a young teenager there are many temptations I face on a day to day basis that I must fight.  Peer pressure is definitely one of the biggest temptations in my life.  Sometimes I want to follow the crowds but in my heart I know what's right and what I should do.  Jesus was sinless, and yes, I do understand that I sin and no one is perfect, but I feel guilty messing up, especially with God watching over me.  He is the pure example of the kingdom of God and us humans should try to fulfill it every day by fighting the temptation by which the devil confronts us with.
